Celebrating Gloria Nilson: Philanthropist, Visionary, and Community Leader

Gloria Nilson broke the glass ceiling in New Jersey's real estate community, developing 11 offices with over 700 agents and staff. Gloria has dedicated decades to supporting numerous Monmouth County non-profits, including Monmouth Medical Center (MMC). Her philanthropic vision has transformed the hospital's ability to deliver world-class care and create healing environments that truly reflect the excellence patients experience.
One of Gloria's many contributions to the hospital is the Gloria Nilson Garden of Reflection, a serene courtyard adjacent to Monmouth Medical Center's behavioral health department. This secure space offers patients a peaceful respite during their overnight treatment. Another landmark gift supported the transformation of Monmouth Medical Center's main lobby into a welcoming space that mirrors the hospital's commitment to quality and community. Additionally, her generosity is felt in the Gloria Nilson Surgical Lounge, which supports Monmouth Medical Center's renowned team of surgeons.
Most recently, Gloria has extended her legacy to the Specialty and Cancer Care Center currently under construction at the new Vogel Medical Campus in Tinton Falls, NJ, where the Len and Gloria Nilson Family Radiology Lobby will serve as a welcoming space for patients and families. "My passion has always been to give back to this incredible community and I have always valued the meaningful work happening at Monmouth Medical Center," said Gloria. "It's an honor to contribute to a place that has touched my family and continues to touch so many lives with its innovative care and dedication to healing."

Beyond her financial contributions, Gloria has devoted more than 20 years to the Monmouth Medical Center Foundation Board and was asked to extend her service in an officer role as the Board Secretary. She also has played a pivotal role in fundraising efforts, including her continued support for signature events like the Power of Pink luncheon, which raises money for cancer patients. Gloria's dedication has left an indelible mark on Monmouth Medical Center and the community it serves.
Gloria is a dedicated community leader with a long history of service. In addition to her work at Monmouth Medical Center, Gloria also served on Monmouth University's Leon Hess Business School Council Steering Committee for many years and is now a Member Emeritus. The Gloria Nilson Mark of Distinction Award is given annually to two individuals for their outstanding service to the Business Council. She also established and funds two annual scholarships for deserving students. Passionate about conservation, Gloria has supported the Monmouth Conservation Foundation for decades. Additionally, the Monmouth Museum in Lincroft, features a gallery named in her honor for emerging artists.
To honor her extraordinary impact, Gloria will receive the 2025 Judith W. Dawkins Ambassador of Excellence Award, presented annually by Monmouth Medical Center to individuals who embody an exceptional commitment to improving patient care and the community.
In celebration of her visionary leadership, Monmouth Medical Center is also proud to introduce the new Gloria Nilson Legacy Society, a program recognizing donors who include the hospital in their planned giving. Whether through a will, life insurance policy, trust, or gift annuity, these contributions will help Monmouth Medical Center continue to provide innovative and compassionate care for our complex community. The Gloria Nilson Legacy Society will stand as a lasting tribute to Gloria's remarkable contributions, ensuring her legacy of generosity inspires others to support the health and vitality of our community.
Thank You, Gloria, for your steadfast dedication and transformative leadership!
